Ted40 Milk-float Challenge Gets Under Way!

Ted40 Launch Eyre Square Galway

It all kicked off on Sunday 20th January as the rain bucketed down in the West.
Hector O’ hEochagain, Galway United manager Nick Leeson and Galway City Mayor Tom Costello were all at Eyre Square to wave the milk-float off on its maiden long distance voyage around Ireland!

Not even the torrential rain on the day could keep the spirits down (and no we’re not talking drink!) There was music and laughter and lots and lots of tears as Mrs Doyle showed up with her teapot and sandwiches…egg sandwiches no less!

Celtic Monk and Priest Dara Molloy from Inis Mór blessed the Milk-float and wished all those taking part good luck. With the weather that was, luck was the order of the day!

It’s now day three of the Ted40 Milk float challenge in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland and the gang will be passing through Castlebar today.

Everybody is welcome to join in and give them a push or a wave – Forrest Gump doesn’t have a patch!

In the meantime feel free to leave a few comments as our journey progresses.

We’ll update you again soon

Slán agus go raibh maith agaibh!

Good Luck with your crazy mission! What time do you get to castlebar today? The Mayo Fans will be out. Have You contacted Mid-West Radio? They are great for getting involved in this kind of thing. Do you have Kevin Kilbane with you? What leg of the journey is he going to do for you? He has plenty of relations here you know! Tell him his Auntie Monica was asking for him!
    Good luck and best wishes…

Hi there. Technically they are in Castlebar resting today. The Ted40 Milkfloat will be at our Paddy Power shop in Castlebar tomorrow at 10am. They will then head to Ballybary (I think it is!) National School for 11.30am and then on to Foxford accompanied by the Youth Club. Kevin Kilbane will be doing one of the Dublin legs - will let you know as soon as the team confirm

Thanks for all your support! ;)

How is it going ? Where was the milkfloat in Foxford yesterday and at what time ? I went looking with my kids but no one we met had heard about it . : (
Best of luck with the rest of the tour ! I would second the suggestion to contact Midwest .

Sorry about that, conditions kept us off the Road, so we diverted to Ballyvary N.S. to meet the children who put on a great welcome for us and the crew from Forogie who joined the Float in Castlebar. Very kindly the Team at O’Hara’s Bakery allowed us drop the Float there overnight. Sorry we missed you but thanks for your interest and support.

    Regards,

    Padraic.
